Wherever You Go, There you are

I was talking to my mom last week about business stuff. Talking about moving my business forward, what the next steps are for her businesses, and how we can help each other make ourselves and our businesses better.

She was telling me about how she would have probably called her dad, my grandpa, about what to do. She was telling me a story about how she had called him multiple times trying to decide on the perfect first name for her business. He would approve or deny the name, but he was always super supportive. Some of the same traits my mom has had for my sister and I.

She started telling us about a quote he would say all the time. “Wherever You Go, There You Are.”

After she told me, I started thinking about what it means for me. And how it probably means something different for everyone. For me, it means plan flexibility and how the journey can change. But at the end of the day, that is where you ended up. It’s not a bad thing.

If you have been following my blog lately, then you know that my original plan was to go back to work full time after my daughter was born. Well that hasn’t happened, instead I decided to start my own business so I could be home with her and watch her grow. Here I am working toward that goal. And you know what? I bet if I told my grandpa that, he would be so proud that I am a business owner and following in our families’ entrepreneurial footsteps. He was always so supportive and happy when you would tell him news that you were proud of.

One things I will always miss not being able to do, is telling him I was pregnant. And that we would be welcoming a little girl. He would have loved her and her sassy and vibrant personality.

What does this have to do with business?

Well I think it teaches the most important lesson. Your journey and positivity can make a huge difference in how you approach things day to day. My business is all about helping people. I always enjoy hearing peoples’ stories about their businesses and what is important to them. I enjoy sending people to learn more about these great businesses and helping those continue their journey.

And if there is something that maybe you are just sick of dealing with, and you don’t feel like it is promoting a great journey for yourself or you are lacking positivity. Maybe just maybe you should talk to someone who can help you. Here’s to your business journey and wherever you go, you find there you are!
