Trying To Handle The Unknown

Over the past few weeks, I have seen a lot of freelancers and other business owners worried about this new “normal”. We are stuck in our homes most of the day, many of us clamoring to get out and see friends or family.

I, however, am used to being at home most of the time. I enjoy being in the comfort of my own home, snuggling with a cat on the couch, scrolling through my phone, and usually watching episodes of Friends, Law & Order SVU, or something I’ve seen a million times but can’t stop watching! My struggle right now is managing my time. My daughter’s daycare closed, so the 2 days a week I looked forward to being able to tackle business and home needs, were now taken away. It’s frustrating and I feel like I’m always trying to catch up. Which I definitely do not like to do.

But I try to remember, my family is safe and we are healthy. We are shutting out the outside world for the time being to keep our family safe and healthy.

My Business Is Still Thriving!

I’ve had people ask me if my business is suffering, if I’ve had people cancel or put things on hold. While that may be true for a couple clients here and and there, it is not happening across the board. In fact, I am still busy and looking at options to better improve processes for not only myself but also my clients. Looking at better invoicing and expense tracking systems, looking at how I can manage my time and calendar to be better equipped for going through this for the long haul, but most importantly trying to keep strategizing and checking on my clients to make sure they are doing well.

I want to support local business just like people support me.
